Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page for the Simeone Museum’s 24 Heures du Simeone special event, celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

We understand that you may have questions about this special event and we are here to provide you with answers. We hope that you will find the answers you are looking for here. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.

What is the 24 Heures du Simeone?

The 24 Heures du Simeone is a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s greatest endurance race. It will take place for 24+ straight hours on June 10-June 11 and will take place at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The event will feature car demonstrations, a Forza Tournament, Kiddie Car race and more!

Are you really doing car demonstrations and programming for 24 Hours straight?

Yes! Our programming will commence with the start of the race in France beginning at 10AM on Saturday, June 10, and will run continuously until 3PM on Sunday, June 11. 

How much are tickets? Do I need one for each day? Is there a group discount?

Tickets to this one-time-only special event are $24.oo (plus processing fees) for adults and children aged 12 and older. Kids under 12 are free. One ticket gets you re-entry for both days and throughout the night. Ground discounts are not available for this event.

Can I purchase tickets at the door?

Tickets for the 24 Heures du Simeone will not be available at the door. You can purchase tickets same day tickets both Saturday and Sunday, but all ticket purchases must be made electronically through our online portal. 

Do Simeone Museum Members and Volunteers have special pricing?

Simeone Museum Members can purchase four tickets at a discounted price of $17.00 (plus processing fees) each. Simeone Museum volunteers  that are not working the event can purchase a maximum of two tickets for $17.00 (plus processing fees). Simeone Museum volunteers that assist with our programming for one of the two days are eligible for free admission for the entire weekend.

Will there be food available on-site? Can I bring my own food, snacks, alcohol?

We will have at least one food vendor on site. If you would like to bring your own food and or/snacks, you are more than welcome to. Due to the nature of the event we request no tailgaiting, alcohol, or grilling while on the Simeone Museum grounds.

What if the weather is bad?

Some of the greatest races in the history of Le Mans have been impacted by inclement weather. The race has always gone on, and so will we. We have held Demo Days in rain and snow and will do the same if we have a bit of bad weather that day.

Is photography allowed? Can I bring a tripod?

Photography is not only allowed but encouraged. Tripods are allowed but we ask that everyone keep it within reason and use their best judgement. Large lights and or setups are strongly discouraged. 

Can I bring my pet dog, cat, turtle, rabbit, snake?

If you have ever been to the Simeone Museum, you know that we love dogs and welcome them at all our events. However, due to the special nature of this event, we request that all our four-legged friends stay home for this one. Service animals as defined by the ADA are allowed throughout the course of the event. 

Are all portions of the Simeone Museum ADA?

Approximately 95% of the Simeone Museum is accessible on the ground floor and ADA accessible. All of our programming for this event will take place on the ground floor and will be ADA accessible. The Patterson Gallery of Art on our second floor is the only portion of the museum that is not easily accessible for those with mobility concerns.

Will the rest of the museum be open to view? Can I have a guided tour throughout the weekend?

The entire Simeone Museum will be open throughout the course of the weekend and we encourage you to check out the rest of the collection while you are visiting. We will NOT be conducting any private or guided tours duing the 24 Heures du Simeone. If you would like to know more about the cars during your visit we encourage you to download our free mobile application available on both the Apple App Store or Android Store.

Can I watch the actual 24 Hours of Le Mans during this event?

Yes! We will have designated areas where the race will be shown on large screen televisions for the entire length of the race.

Can I drive a car, sit in a car, or fill one up with gas?

The short answer is no, no, and no. Unfortunately our current insurance does not allow for any extra-curricular activities in our cars with the exception of staff and insurance-vetted volunteers. 

Can I fly my drone?

For the safety of our guests and staff, we request all amateur drone pilots to refrain from flying during the course of the event. If you are a professional drone pilot and would like to volunteer to assist with aeriel photography, please contact us using the form on the front page.

What else is planned for the event?

The event is going to feature 24+ hours of Demo Day like presentations and driving demonstrations, live screening of the race, a Forza tournament, screenings of our favorite racing movies, special guest speakers, check-ins from the race in France, slot car racing, and more! We’re going to wrap it up with a kiddie car race for children aged 5 and under.

What if I have a car that raced Le Mans and I want to participate?

We are looking for guest cars! We already have some great ones lined up but are always open to bringing more into the mix. If you have a car that raced Le Mans and want to take part, please fill out the form on the home page of this site.

I live halfway around the world? I can't make it that weekend. I would love to come but I just can't. Is there anyway I can still watch the action?

We plan on live-streaming a majority of the event. Those details are still being finalized. More information will be posted here as it becomes available. 

Can I spend all 24 hours at the museum?

Yes you can! We’re going to awarding a special giveaway to everyone that makes it for the entire duration.

Can I bring an RV?

On-street RV parking will be available on a first-come basis.

Is it going to be safe?

The museum is located in a light commercial/industrial area of Philadelphia, directly across from an active 24-hour Amazon hub. We will have a heavy security presense throughout the event and regular patrols of parking areas.

Is there a hotel to sleep at nearby?

Yes. We will be reserving a block of rooms with a partner hotel for that weekend with discounted pricing for all attendees. More information to follow.
